"My 2 older grandchildren (7 & 9) attended Camp Agape last year and couldn't wait to go back (their first overnight camp experience). The 7-year-old got a bit homesick but still talked about it endlessly and they tell me that their mom, my daughter, has already signed them up for this year. The other day, he said, "They won't be happy to have me back,' because he wasn't the easiest camper, being homesick and a bit unhappy and subsequently not always cooperative.  His sister said, 'They'll want you back. They love EVERYONE.'"

“I can’t believe this; when I heard about Camp Agape and what Agape meant, I didn’t believe that someone could love me without even knowing me. Then I came here and it’s true!”

“I loved the food and the swimming and the magician and the fishing.”

“This is the first time in two years that I have felt safe.”

At a Sunday night campfire, the first night, a counselor asked, “Why are you here, what brought you here?” A girl answered: “My mom’s in prison and I want to be with other kids who are in the same situation so I am not alone.”
                                            Other children agreed
“I’m so glad I could come back for a second year.”

“Thank you for all the books I get to take home.”

“I was invited to Camp Agape for the final lunch and farewell ceremony. The children there were like any others – exuberant, loud, silly, affectionate, and very loveable.  Did they come that way?  I don’t think so.  From what I was told by the camp founders and counselors, they came quiet, withdrawn, scared, and yes, some were even angry.  But they experienced a week of unconditional love and the undivided attention from an amazing staff of dedicated volunteers – hence the change in them from Sunday afternoon to Friday.”

“The Camp is well named.  Agape is all we have going for us, and it is enough.”
